Rotary Bottle Drop
As their signature fundraiser, the Rotary Club of Parksville holds a weekly Bottle Drop at Speedy Glass in Parksville, a location donated by owners Tim and Donna Andres, also Qualicum Beach Rotary members.
Operating from 10 am – 2 pm every Saturday, this fundraiser has become very successful, enabling the Club to make a number of significant donations, both locally and internationally.
Through the generosity of our community, we have been able to support many local causes in our community, along with an ongoing commitment to an annual house-building trip to Mexico. Our key areas of focus address the most critical priorities facing our community and include youth, seniors, food security, and mental health and addictions.
Our IMPACT page provides an overview of donations made and organizations supported.
A month long fundraising campaign at the Rotary Bottle Drop raised $20,000 to support mental health initiatives following the Tumbler Ridge school shooting tragedy.
Parksville Rotarians then turned their attention to food insecurity in the Oceanside area, setting a fundraising goal of $30,000 during a two-month period. Through the support of the community, that goal was handily surpassed as a grand total of $38,932 was raised!
